@Account Closed I was referring to the financial crisis that was mentioned in the article.  And couldnt agree with you more on the impact of blight in certain neighborhoods here. I'm glad they are scheduling to remove these eye sores. Since I work for the city also I applaud each time we cut and plug the water lines to soon-to-be-demolished homes, and often times the neighbors of that home will come out and thank us! They are glad to see it removed as that means a decrease to blight and crime, and also and increase in home values.

I'm optimistic our city will make a good turn around in a few years!

Good article of Someone taking advantage of a city's crisis and of investors' desire to invest. I've even heard of people selling homes tht are scheduled for demolition. 

This is the perfect reason why doing due diligence is so important and also why having someone in the area to help with analysis is important if you are investing from out of state. I have always and will always be honest with investors I work with. Every deal isn't necessarily a deal because it priced cheap. Good article. Hopefully more investors will be willing to travel and see for themselves or make sure they have trustworthy "boots on the ground" where they plan to invest!
