Post the address, $8k for 1.5 acres? Sounds landlocked or swamp/wetlands.

Hey Brad, welcome to BP. My wife and I are also in central Florida but can help with searches, vendor info etc. We just had a client looking in St Augustine recently but as a primary residence. Drop me a pm if you want to talk, set a search or whatever we can help with.

assuming this is Attom data, their releases are clickbait hype
Actually was from a WinkNews story on the 6/16/25. But I believe looking through it again that their source does seem to be Attom.

Quick note as @Michael Smythe said, seeing as though your father is the owner of the property, you are not self managing so you would be required to have a brokers license and other business licenses. Florida doesnt screw around with licensing so best check into it, only takes 1 mad tenant to make a call.

Welcome, Dalton! My wife and I moved to Central Florida (DeLand — cow country, lol) a little over five years ago from Buffalo, NY. Sounds like you were doing pretty much the same thing I was back up north — general contracting turned flipping, along with property maintenance for a few PM companies.
She’s a real estate broker down here, and we’re currently building up our property management side while working toward launching our own brokerage.
Looking forward to connecting!

Our market is flooded with new builds, builders are cutting deals and giving huge incentives. you probably could find something ready to go cheaper.
