Hi @Matt Conrad I echo what was said above by Eric. Use an insurance broker that can shop multiple providers. I can refer you to the one I have been using for the last 5 years and they have been great. Also if you need rental comps I can subscribe you to the MLS feed. Just shoot me a PM and I'll get you setup.

Hey @Marc Phelps I've always been interested in getting into the airbnb model in St. Louis and would love to learn more about your model.  I invest near the airport which I initially thought would be great for airbnb but when I see listings for a whole house at $65/night with no minimum stays I have trouble understanding how any profits are made.  I imagine it would cost me $50-100 to have the place cleaned and turned over to the next tenant.  Let me know what you think.

@Justin Dossey I will echo what @Michael Tierney posted - put yourself out there and start requesting meetings with decision makers at local banks that have portfolio loans.

I just started doing this myself.  I emailed half a dozen banks last week and it got me a meeting with the AVP at bank in St. Charles next week.  I plan to sell myself and my plan for investing in St. Louis - and if it doesn't work I'll keep doing it until I find one that does.

@Lance Middleton Welcome! I'm glad you found Bigger Pockets so early in your career.  I've been a systems engineer for 10 years and a part time real estate agent for the past 5 years.  Real estate had been somewhat a hobby of mine that I enjoyed so much but didn't think I could make a living of it until finding Bigger Pockets this year.  I purchased my first investment property last month and can't wait to scale up!
