My current residence was vacant for a 1.5 years, the prior owner passed away in the home, and the people before that had a young girl (14) pass away, she also passed in the home. I am typing this in the room where she passed, it is now a theater room.
Any way, all this was common knowledge in the small town we live in..... sooooo nobody bid on the house! Nobody! I walked in, low balled them, got the house for $103k, it appraised at $148k. After some much needed updating... the last owner used the same designer that did the Brady Bunch set!
We put about $50k in the house and it appraised last year for $222K.
I like ghosts, and so called haunted houses.
Seems to keep the competition down!!!!!
