@Pradeep TiwariGreat Question! It's actually taken me 4 years to realize what's the best strategy, coming from a big market myself. I started in the "ocean" and had actually avoided the "pond" for years, but after the influx of new investors within my metroplex, I re-strategized my marketing efforts. I figured it's best to DOMINATE the smaller markets aka "the ponds" instead of fighting over the scraps with everyone else in a bigger market. I find that my marketing efforts have been more EFFICIENT and EFFECTIVE on a consistent basis. I find myself doing 10x more deals monthly by focusing on 5 smaller sub-markets than 1 big market.

I believe it's all in your personal and business goals at the end of the day. If you are looking to buy and flip or hold 1-2 deals per month then I feel that's very doable in a big market, but if you are looking to truly dominate then I'd take the Sam Walton approach.
