Hello BiggerPockets, I want to get started investing in Buffalo, NY and I want to know if anybody on here works in the area and is willing to chat with me so I can get some insight on the conditions of the market in Buffalo. Buffalo is my hometown and I'm hoping to get in the area and help improve some of the more rundown areas. Thanks in advance, Donnell

@Logan Turner Since making the post i have most definitely decided which route i would like to take to get into investing. I'm looking to do fix and flips in my local area. I've begun to network with as many local investors as I can and even found a few decent lenders that I could possibly work with on my first deal.

Shiloh Lundahl while I was reading this I couldn't believe that anyone would ever turn down a mentor like that. If I had that offer on the table I would take it in a heartbeat. To be honest all of the skills required to be good at this business can only be gained by going through with deals so I can't even relate to people who wouldn't jump at the first chance to get experience. I would literally work for free if I could shadow someone on deals just to learn. I think most newbies just want something in exchange for nothing.

I plan on hiring contractors to do the work for me, I don't have enough free time to try to do the work myself. I do not currently know any contractors but I could send around documents with the scope of the work I need done to companies and see what kinds of quotes I can get and then try to form a relationship that way. As far as the prices go I have been building a spreadsheet of things I would put into my rehabs based on prices from home depot for the materials.
