This is a great discussion so I just want to put in my 2 cents...we're all human and nobody's perfect. Whether young or old I'm pretty sure everyone has done something illegal at least one time in their life. And like the previous comment, some get caught and some don't. Some people have perfectly understandable reason's for doing what they did and some people are just plain evil, but you need to find this out. Just because someone has a felony don't count them out completely, listen to their story, find out their reasoning, definitely look at their employment history since then. They're are a lot of good people out there that make mistakes in life and do change their ways. Sometimes it just takes a conviction to change them. How do I know this? Because I used to be that person. But ask any landlord I've ever had and they'll give you nothing but good reviews about me. Just a thought

Welcome @Chalene Johnson, I would recommend finding others from your city on here and possibly meetup. Find out where and when your local real estate meetings are as well

This sounds like a great strategy, I would do this
