Hi Cameron. The goal for the meet up is for everyone to introduce themselves and talk about what each of us have been up to/ what our next steps are in Real Estate. Last meet up I talked a bit about my househack that my wife and I have been doing and talked about the numbers on it. In the future I would like to have some guest speakers come.

Hi everyone. I am hosting a meet up on Weds, July 21st. The focus is going to be networking, especially for househackers or rookie investors, but all are welcome to attend. We did this last month and it was fun and informative. Come out and talk to some fellow investors!

Hi @Jessica Wilson

My wife and I are househacking by renting out our 3 spare bedrooms on airbnb. It's been a really good strategy for us. I think LTR would be good as well, less profit but a bit less work.

Hi William. I see from your bio that you are in college. A good way to start could be to try to purchase a house to househack, and rent the rooms to some of your buddies. That way most or all of your mortgage is getting paid for and your friends have a nice play to stay.  I'm househacking in Houston and think it is one of the easiest ways to get started.

Hi Corbin. I'm in Houston, and have been househacking by renting out my 3 spare bedrooms on airbnb. I would recommend househacking as a good way to get started because you can learn about real estate without very much downside. You could find a duplex and rent out one side, a single family home and rent out the rooms to roommates, or go with the airbnb strategy. The airbnb method is the most work but I think it is the most profitable, and I enjoy getting to meet travelers from around the country/world.

I have an airbnb in Houston and it has been great so far. I would also recommend looking at traditional vacation rental markets for higher occupancy rates.

My wife and I bought a primary residence a few months ago. We have been renting out the 3 spare bedrooms on airbnb which is covering the mortgage. I think next year we will move out and turn the whole house into an airbnb rental, and do the owner occupant airbnb thing again at a new property.

I rent out three bedrooms in my house on airbnb in Houston, Tx. We have gotten a lot of longer term (2-3 months) guests who are in town for travel nursing, temporary work assignments, internships etc. We do get guests who are visiting for just a few nights but usually they are in town for an event going on at NRG stadium which is not too far from our place.
