@DJ Dawson I see the Raiders banner on your profile. Don't hate me, but I am a Niners fan lol...I've definitely noticed the light inventory. I will definitely check out that blog. Just added you on here and I will definitely be in touch. I appreciate your help!

@Tim Key

Hey Tim. So I am based in the Bay Area now, not in Sacramento. I am planning to move up to Sacramento to find work as well as start the Real Estate Investing journey. I just connected with you on here. I appreciate the offer! I will be in contact.

@Daniel A.

Man reading that just pumped me up! You’re right. I have to continue to remember why I’m even considering doing this to continue going for it.

And for sure it makes sense that you had that mindset when moving to Texas! I’m a hands on learner and I learn best by trial and error. I appreciate the words Daniel!

@Joseph Cacciapaglia

Definitely. I appreciate that advice. I’m thinking that other people are on the same lines as me as to moving out of the Bay Area. I keep reading and hearing that a lot of these tech companies are going to start letting their employees WFH indefinitely so I’m expecting that would create a trend of people moving out of the expensive Bay Area to other parts of California.

What are some ways or tools you use to find out economic outlook?

@Sean Lee

What’s up Sean! Go Bears! I graduated in 2017 and planning on starting out with investing as well. Let’s connect! I’ve studied real estate investing for many many moons and I’m looking to buy a home by the end of 2020.

Hi everyone!

After analyzing houses on Redfin for a long while I am excited to get things going and start out this real estate investing journey. I live in the Bay Area, Ca and I'm looking to move out of the area (and my parents home), to buy a multi family (3plex or 4plex) so I can house hack using a FHA loan (possibly 203k).

I’ve looked all over the US in cities like Milwaukee, Houston, Indianapolis, Phoenix, Cleveland, and Portland. But after studying those areas, I’ve found some properties that would work, but I am not a huge fan of moving out of state (but not 100% against it). So I started looking into Stockton and Modesto before settling on Sacramento.

I’m still very fascinated with Portland and still considering a move there if I could find the right deal.

I’m currently in the process of getting pre-approved for a loan. I guess my main concern is moving away and starting a new life in an area that I don’t know much about. Is there anybody else that moved into their market where they wanted to invest and have any advice to make the transition smooth? Also any Sacramento or Portland investors willing to share any advice / connect?

Thanks everyone!

George Adkins

@Matthew Odou

Thanks for asking this question. Funny I was getting ready to ask the same thing and get some ideas. I'm in the Bay Area, CA living at my family's home. Also trying to move somewhere less expensive and start this real estate journey. Also looking for a multi family house, FHA, house hack, etc. I've been looking into Sacramento a lot lately, but have looked at Houston, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Phoenix, and Milwaukee.

Appreciate you taking the step to ask the community and I’m appreciating the words from everyone!
