I've been working in the area for over 21 years and have helped many in and out of state investors find and purchase small multiunits.  There are many nice and fairly priced neighborhoods.  Perhaps we should have a conversation?

Hi Zeliang, Pittsburgh, PA offers investors great opportunities for what you are looking for. For one our buy-in is more conducive than other more saturated markets. Investors have seen strong appreciation with good returns, but you've got to know the area very well. Neighborhoods and properties within those neighborhoods change street by street and sometimes on the same street. So getting with someone that knows the area very well is crucial and beneficial in making the most informed decision. I've lived here my whole life and know the area and market very well. Feel free to reach out to me. Thanks, Gary

While Pittsburgh does provide investors with strong returns, it's more difficult to find higher unit properties in the area. There are far more options available in 4 and below unit buildings. That said, you've really got to know the areas well as they change dramatically from one neighborhood to the next.  Best to reach out to someone who really knows the area and can help you obtain all the information you need to make the most informed decision.

This is all depends on several factors. What are you looking for, what kind of tenant are you trying to attract, how much you want to put into it, condition of property and what is your price range...among other factors. Many find house hacking to be a great start as this provides you a place to live while assessing if being a landlord is something you really want to do. I've lived in Pittsburgh my whole life and know the area and many of its properties very well. Feel free to reach out and best of luck to you....Gary

Hi Stefan, you've certainly picked a great city to invest in. I've lived here my whole life and know the area very well.  You definitely can build a strong portfolio here as long as you know the area and the numbers work for you. Properties and their condition change street to street and each neighborhood has a unique vibe. I'd be interested to hear more about your plans and goals. Best of luck to you and your wife as you start investing.  Gary
