Hi Mark, welcoming you and your wife to BP. Pittsburgh is a solid market for investors for many reasons. It helps to understand the various neighborhoods and specific properties to determine if they would fit with your specific plans and goals. Feel free to reach out further if you want to talk more about the Pittsburgh market. I've lived here my whole life.

Typically hiring a realtor will also offer you recommendations for other industry professionals ie: contractors, inspectors,  lenders,  property managers etc.

Hi Cj, most importantly to consider is your price point. Your budget will generally but not always determine your location. Also if you're looking for long term tenants, again generally but not always steer clear of college towns like Oakland. Would need more information to give you a better idea of exact neighborhoods.  Feel free to reach out.

Hi Naseema, consider Pittsburgh PA. Investors, both local and remote, like the Pittsburgh market as it's often more affordable than other saturated markets. But it gets tricky as you've really got to either know the area or open to learn as our neighborhoods are diverse and in various stages of redevelopment.  That's where having a conversation with a local is suggested.  I've lived here my whole life and am in and out of properties every single day.

also yes having a good property manager is recommended.  Feel free to reach out further.

I'm in Pittsburgh and for one thing, the buy-in is a lot more conducive than other saturated markets. It depends on what your goals are and what kind of returns are you looking for. I will say that you've really got to know the areas. What has potential and what areas to steer clear of. I've lived here my whole life and am in and out of properties every single day.  Feel free to reach out and best of luck in your endeavors.

Start with reaching out to an investor experienced realtor in the area. They usually have access to all other industry professionals.  I've lived here my whole life and am in and out of properties every single day. Good luck.
