Hello, I am still sorta new to investing in RE and I could use some advice. I currently have one rental in Palm Springs and I am in the process of buying my first OOS property in Michigan. I have been looking for a company to help with asset protection and creating LLC's. I've been in talks with Anderson Business Advisers and though I like what they offer I don't know if its too intense for a small fry as myself. To create everything I would need would run me about 9k, with an annual price of about 1400. I don't know if an umbrella policy would be better or not. Has anyone worked with them who has just started out as well?

Thanks very much!

@Craig Tomlinson Thanks for all the info. Ya its tough finding descent places outside the LA and OC area unless you drive over 3 hours away. Thanks for all the advice, I will be in touch!

@Richard Sherman Ya I'm ":old fashioned" too and Id prefer to be able to easily access my property if I need to. I've considered renting out my primary residence eventually and I'd love to get into a duplex but out in SoCal they are super expensive. Looks like Palm Springs it is hahah. Thanks!

@Tim McKelvey Thanks Tim! Ya I am def looking outward from LA, maybe Palm Springs or I was even considering Palmdale. Any areas in Palmdale I should avoid?? Its great you have someone you can trust when dealing with property managers, Ive heard nothing but horror stories so I'm reluctant to use one.

@Travis Henry I can certainly try hahaha. Hope you find something great out in Tennessee though!

Hello @Travis Henry, My in-laws live in Tennessee, but they are very against me getting rental property, (they say pay off what I'm living in now) so I dont know if they will be too helpful hahaha.

Hello Jeffery! What areas outside of CA do you invest in? I wouldn't mind doing that but I'm really hesitant to relay on property managers so far away. What had your experience been with that?

Thanks!

Thanks, ya eventually when I feel more comfortable I definitely want to look outside So cal for investments but since I'm new I'd like to try and get a few close by first. Palm Springs has some lower priced condos. Thanks for the advice!!

Hello! My name is Heather I live and work in Los Angeles.  I work in the animation industry and though I really love my job, the work is always contract work so once the season is over I have to find a new job. With this instability I was always trying to think of a plan B and I feel like real estate investing is the way to go. I own a condo that I live in and I am currently trying to buy my first investment property. Its tough out here in LA with how expensive it is.  Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
