I think what Tim said is so important when thinking about Philadelphia. This map just reminds us about the realities of working in Philadelphia and taking into account how important methods of data mining are when putting out information. I wouldn't agree that tracking by building permits makes most sense for our area. Just stresses the need to be educated where yo work.

Sam,
Have you gotten anywhere with the zoning variance yet? I have a few reliable people I can suggest if you're still looking. Let me know...

Welcome!
I grew up in Abington, so you're not too far away! What have you done to start your business so far? Are you working in Montco or Philly? I always like to hear how people decide their areas.
Best of luck!

Micki,
I'm at a boutique brokerage in Philadelphia that specializes working with new construction, developers, investors, etc., which is why I am there. After working at a typical (still very good) brokerage for years, I felt that bc I didn't fit into their box, that I wasn't getting the support, etc that I needed/wanted. If you build it, they will come...
Best of luck!

Welcome Chris!
Just finally signed up here myself. I agree with you that one of the best part of my day-to-day is meeting and working with all different types of people. I'm always looking for a interesting rehab project, so keep me in mind!

Welcome, Jeff! In this business, setting up a database to log everything you learn and everyone you meet would definitely put you head and shoulders above others.
Let me know if you have any questions I can help with!
Best,
Hilary

Thanks, Rafael!
The meetup's topic looks interesting - there is always something new to learn about sheriff sales. Do you usually go to these? Are you involved in its organization?
Most of my investment properties are in Istanbul, but I am in Philadelphia's River Wards. I have been doing more rehabs these days, though - I'm first to admit that I love projects, and may have an addiction. Where do you do your rehabs?

Hi All!
I have lived in or around Philadelphia for the majority of my life (except for a extended stint in Istanbul after college), and am truly proud to call myself a Philadelphian. I am a Realtor first and run my investment business with a partner. I am passionate about real estate and find myself to be one of the lucky few to be able to say that I love my career and wake up excited everyday to start something new or tackle an issue.
I have perused the forums here from time to time, but I thought I should finally stop creeping in the shadows. I look forward to meeting new people, learning new things, and growing my business.
I know there are already a few meetups in the Philadelphia area, but I would be interested in starting something specific to Center City and with an emphasis or interest aligned with 'green' building practices . I'm thinking something very informal, but at a standing time over breakfast. If anyone else has interest, please let me know!
