Hi all,
I have 2 SFH that I am subleasing out. The owner and I have a seller financing agreement, I pay him monthly and I collect rents from the tenants. I also pay all taxes and insurance. I had been doing this all through my personal accounts. Last year when I filed my taxes, I could not claim any of the taxes or expenses because the houses are not in my name. I recently created a LLC, property management company and now all my transactions flow through the business. Am I able to claim all of my expenses now? If so, how do I do that? Does it involve 1099 with the owner? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hi @Marcony. Glad to hear business is well! :)
I know people that do well with their single family rentals in the town plot area and the east end. Again, the taxes are very high though.
Hi @Dominique! I was born and raised in Waterbury too. I currently invest in Watertown/Oakville, I have a few rentals there. The thing I like about it is that the taxes are far less expensive as Waterbury and it's a little easier to find a deal that will cash flow.
Have you heard of the BRRR method? If not, theres quite a few article and podcasts on this site that explain it. It might be a good option for you since most of what you see in Waterbury needs work.
@Mat, David is good friend of mine, I'm in that group as well ;)
🙋Hi all! I'm in.. would love to get together.
