Do both, but read enough to learn basic concepts.

If we give you 15 or 30 minutes over coffee, you can waste it asking what an option or BRRR is. Or you can already be there and talk about next level, market-specific trends and strategies.

This is true sir. You are not wrong. I am wrong. We learn lot of things in collage and that is imporTant. But, the issue is after completing my high school in india . I want to go canada because real estate market in canada is far good than in india. And to reach to canada i have to take 16 months course. If i was born in canada . After completing my high school i would had pursued my carrier in real estate rather than pursuing any course in which i am not interested. From that point of view i have said that “I don’t want to waste my time  in collage”

You are right!. I don’t want to waste my 2-3 years in degree . I have already told you i am from india. In india, the real estate market is very bad that’s why i am moving to canada to pursue my dream of real estate investing . And study visa is most affordable way to move to canada . And i am not doing 3-4 years degree . My course is just 16 months after that i will apply for work permit and from that time i will get into real estate. Doing 16 month course is just a way to reach canada . It’s just a road ( or step) to reach canada not my destination.

College is important, not because of the subject you learn (although that plays a role).  What you learn in college goes far beyond that.  The most important thing you learn in college, actually in school in general (any and every level) is "How to Learn".  Every year of school you advance teaches you more advanced ways of learning.

If you think I'm wrong, and didn't go to college because you thought it was a waste, you're right...you would have wasted your time.

If you think I'm wrong, but did go to college, then you are also right...it was a waste of time.

Ohh, i got it after reading it 3-4 times 😅😅. Your advice is amazing. And thats true to find ways to how to do that rather than find silly reasons to give up. I read this principle in rich dad poor dad but first time i saw a person who thinks like that. Thank you sir . Your advice is wonderful. Actually, my relatives are in canada and they are real estate investors . They own properties in Calgary and in Brampton as well. I am going to discuss this ideas with them . Again, thank you for that amazing WORDS….

I am 19 years old and very passionate about real estate. I am going to canada (toronto) for my further education in business. So i am unable to purchase any property for next 2-3 years . So, what should i do till next 3 years to keep me engaged with real estate . Should i read books, meet with local investor to gain my knowledge …?

You've already got the wrong mindset.

"I want to invest in real estate, but I'm doing (insert excuse here) and can't start for 2-3 years."

You plan to live in some type of structure, correct? It's going to cost you money, correct? So figure out how to take control of a property and pay yourself instead of some other Landlord!

Do you have a relative, friend, former boss, or some other trusted acquaintance interested in real estate with a little cash saved up? Can they partner with you to purchase a four-plex? You live in one unit, rent the other three out, manage it yourself, and split the profits with your partner. Find an owner interested in seller financing to help a young guy get started (listen to Podcast 554). There are other ideas.

Stop thinking of reasons why you can't and start asking, "How do I...?"

Sir, you are absolutely right. But, the situation is like this. I am from india where real estate market is very bad (over valued) . So, i want to move to canada. And the most affordable way to reach canada is study visa. So doing 16 month business course in canada is just a way to reach canada and don’t want to do this course but i think if i want to go to canada this is the affordable way to reach their. This is just my first step to pursue my dream .

First and foremost... College is a bit of a JOKE, especially if your goal is RE investing as a career. True that I want my Dr to have a degree, or my nurse, but if your degree is going to be in any field that ends in ..OLOGY then its a waste (I have a degree in SOCIOLOGY that I have never used for anything)

If your degree is going to be in BUSINESS then I would suggest WORKING in a business or even owning a business.. do the math: Average college degree takes 5 years and is a $400k swing the wrong way (cost of college plus lost revenue while you attend college)...if you buy a business it will cost less, you will learn more and be more valuable... I hire people for a living and if I have the choice to hire a 23 year old with an MBA who has never held down a real job but learned a ton, or a 23 year old former franchise owner of a Little Caesars  I would choose the franchise owner in a heartbeat... plus the franchise costs FAR less than the degree, provided income and had equity for him to sell when he was done

If your hope in life is to get a corporate job, work 60 hours a week and have ZERO control over anything EVER then for sure go get a degree in something fairly useless...if your goal is to have 100% control of your life and future and want to work when you WANT to work and wake up daily and do what you WANT to do not what you HAVE to do then I would suggest seriously considering a PIVOT in your life.

Real Estate is a DOERS game... you learn by researching, listening, asking and most importantly DOING Real Estate.  At 19 there are people who already own properties, work in real estate and a few that are extremely wealthy...all got to where they are by DOING not by dreaming.

If you insist on wasting the next 2-3 years of your life then have a blast...if you want a clear answer to your question then here it is: Read one book per week, alternate between Real Estate, General business, and investing; listen to a podcast a day about real estate and financial freedom and investing... then when you have very specific questions ask them on BP posts and connect with people that way...dont just start by trying to "get a coach" in Real Estate

Good luck, hope you start DOING because that is what will set you apart
