Yes! I personally won’t be able to make it on the 25th as I will be in Texas but the rest of the group will be there.

There is a meetup every other Thursday (next one being on Aug 11th) we generally meet at the World Of Beer on Sw 34th st unless we’ve got a special event like meeting at someone’s flip, or AirBNB to see how the projects going. We’ve got a Facebook group that has more info and we’ll do an event so you’ve got a reminder as well. Just search “Gainesville,FL BiggerPockets Investor Meetup” and I or one of the other admins can approve you to the group. Hope to see you on the 11th. 

I am an investor agent here in Gainesville and manage my own properties. I won’t have anything available in Aug either. However if she is looking for a place come Aug she’s most likely starting her search too early. Most landlords will get a 30/60 day notice of their current tenant is renewing or moving out. Most rentals for Aug will be posted within the 30-60 days prior so she will have much better luck around May or later. What specifically is she looking for? I can keep an eye out if I see something pop up.

I would make sure your turnover and vacancy numbers are high enough. Not sure where the multi family you’re looking at is exactly but most multi family in Gainesville are in D or worse areas and have a high turnover. Did you factor in property management too if you are not going to manage them yourself? 

Hey everyone! We have a meetup every other Thursday here in Gainesville. It’s a great group of investor that range from newbies to more seasoned investors. We’ll periodically have mortgage lenders and people from title companies come to answer all of our questions and our next meetup is going to be on Jan 13th. Feel free to reach out and I’ll get you added to our local Facebook group where we have events, updates and reminders.

Hi Casey, I’m a Realtor here in Gainesville and would be happy to help in several different ways. Obviously I can help find deals on/off market but I can also manage the project if there are any renovations that need to be done to the property. I have been managing projects for years for other out of town/country investors and have several of my own rentals. It sounds like your not local to the Gainesville area but if your ever in town we do have an investor meetup every other Thursday and we’d love to have you join.

theceshop.com is where I have been taking my continuing education and ive liked it. Not sure if they have pre licensing or not. I’ve also heard Bob Hogue School Of Real Estate is good so maybe check them out as well. When you do online classes I don’t think it generally matters how long you take since you are able to go at your own speed. I’ve done less on the timeframes on each of my required CE’s and never had any issues. There are some places where you can do an in person classes and they do make you take the full 63 hours on class.
