Hi BP Atlanta!

I'm looking to work under an investor in the local area to learn the Atlanta market and the various investment strategies for this area. I'll work for commission, little or no money as long as there is an agreement that benefits both parties. I'm also interested in learning how to rehab properties hands on. I'm willing to hustle and put as much work in as needed to ensure am an asset to the operation. I'm a U.S. Navy veteran and I am college educated so I'm not scared of hard work. I am also a firefighter with a 24hr on 48 off off schedule, meaning I only work 9.5 days a month, which leaves me with an abundance of free time to work on other projects. Just reply or message me if you think we could help each other and/or need more information! Thanks for your time!

Thank you @Paul Timmins I didn't know about HUD, that's good information. I've read the begginers guide and I'm reading J. Scott's book now. I'm going to my first REI meet up tomorrow! I appreciate the advice!

Hi Eli, rsvp my wife and I please and thanks!

Hi I'm looking to buy MFR in Atlanta. I've done a ton of reading and listening to audio books and podcast so I'm ready to get the ball rolling. I'm looking to get into buy and hold investing. My wife and I own a condo in Dunwoody under her name. My plan is to use my VA benefit to buy a property, live on one side and rent the other side as well as rent out our condo. I've been looking around various resources ( MLS with a realtor, Craigslist, BP marketplace) and the vast majority of MFR are in southwest Atlanta. It's cheap and distressed but I would be a little apprehensive to invest in that area plus I would need to live in a unit for a year as a requirement of the VA loan. That would also be a hard sell to my wife. I would much rather find a property in northwest or northeast Atlanta even outside the perimeter. If someone with experience in this area could give me some advice I would be grateful! I appreciate any input from anyone for that matter!

Hi @Jerry Padilla Thanks for the response. I've had success in some areas but really looking for financial success and I'm excited about this path! I do plan on using my VA to get into MFR. Hopefully I can connect with some of these investors in Atlanta

Hi @Charles McCabe I certainly will. I'm also looking at MFR. I've been looking around a bit. Most of the MFR I've come across is in SW Atlanta and its mostly cheap and distressed but of course that's the rough area of Atlanta in general. MFR seems to be a little more scarce in north and east Atlanta. Where are you looking?
