Curious of people’s thoughts on this new Dtravel platform. Think it will work or are Airbnb and Vrbo here to stay as the dominant forces? Hopefully the link posts. If not you find info about it by googling “dtravel”.

Airdna can also give you some high level market numbers for properties by bedrooms, etc. It’s not perfect though.

@Deirdre Cullen makes a great point. Pointing a camera at the hot tub is sketchy and a big no no.

I use ring floodlight cameras, but I don’t look at them unless there is an issue or to see if a guest checked out early so my cleaners can come. Slippery slope.

And just like that I have new book arriving from amazon tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendation.

Take a solid hour and sit down and make a checklist. You’ll be surprised what you come up with from dedicating an hour to a single task that seems elementary. You’ll have a good framework after that, then just make adjustments as you set up future STRs. Your checklist will never be 100%, but that’s not really the goal.

Otherwise there are many good facebooks groups, podcast, blogs, and books to assist with this you can find with a quick Google search, but none as effective as taking an hour of “brainstorming time”. Also check out Daniel Rusteen’s books and YouTube. He’s got some pretty good stuff.

Good luck on your expansion!

Sounds like just a syndication with added benefits. I’m sure a good lawyer can draw it up however you want it. You’ll just have to get very detailed in how they can book and use the time. Using it over memorial day weekend is a completely different story than a random weekday in the off-season.

I really like Broken Bow and anything on the Gulf coast of Texas due to its location not being far from major cities in TX. Seems like an influx of people moving in and those people will want a place for a weekend get-a-way.

Try bidding it out in turnoverbnb or search for local Facebook groups. Site like houzz and angies list work too.

Google Charleston short term rental permit and it pulls up their website with a list of items you will need. I believe you need a permit to operate STR in Charleston. You can also check on eligibility on the website.

From my knowledge of Charleston, an STR their would be cool, but the prices in downtown are nuts.
