Thanks @Courtney Sorrell     I've walked through one already and about to walk through another here in about 30 mins or so. 

@Tim VandenToorn  yeah, it's definitely pretty crazy right now.  I guess I just need to get better at estimating so I don't have to rely on someone else, I just don't want to have sticker shock when I get an actual quote and end up not having the deal I thought I had :)

Hey everyone!  I just sold my house and ready to start making offers on my first project!  For my first project I'd prefer to have a GC walk through with me to give me an idea of costs and that way I can see how accurate my own estimates are.  I've found a couple houses that Im very interested in so any recommendations for a GC in the Grand Rapids area would be appreciated.   Thanks!

Welcome @Clay Snider!  And thank you both for your service in the Military.    As @Justin Workman mentioned, Grand Rapids has a great community of investors who are willing to help and share.  I'm a newbie but happy to help if I can.

My dad and I are just getting started in the whole process as well.   I have enough money to invest but it's all tied up in my house and I haven't been able to refi to get the cash out I need to invest so I might have to sell it so we have the cash.  Deals are incredibly hard to find right now in GR because the market is so hot.  

Welcome @Sharnell James! You've come to the right place to meet others. In Grand Rapids there is a great networking REI group that meets the 2nd Monday of every month at Buffalo Wild Wings on 44th at 6pm. It's a great place to meet other investors.

As far as partnering with other investors I suppose it really depends on the relationships you build with investors and also what kinds of deals you're looking at.  

If you can't make it to the REI meetings, BP is a great place to network with and learn from others.

Hello BP Grand Rapids members!  My father and I have been trying to leverage the money we have in my house to start buying investment properties but have run into walls and it seems like our only option left is to sell my house so we have the cash to move forward.   That means finding a new place to live.  Unfortunately my credit is not great right now but after I sell my house I will have the means to pay for a full 6-12 months lease upfront.  

I'll be looking for at least 2 beds, with off street parking, in a good neighborhood preferably on the East side of Grand Rapids.

I have a small dog as well.
