It all depends on the agency/agent that is hiring you. I’m with Keller Williams and here you are able to run your business like a real business (you can hire employees if you wish). Usually a principal broker would hire you as a buyer/listing agent, but you would be working under them and doing all the hard work for them. All commission goes to them no matter how many sales you do. They may give you a percentage of every referral you give them or bonuses, but again it depends on the broker.
Short answer yes it is possible to get salary.

I use BP to network and learn. I'm a new real estate broker as well as new to investing. I don't have much time to look through the threads, but I love getting emails for the forums that I follow. I usually see a question that I was thinking of asking. I really love that I have the opportunity to actually meet up with some people that are users too. From what I've learned there are many real estate agents that don't know anything about REI.

I too believe that it’s a way to humanize your offer. I don’t think it would hurt to try this out. There are no laws/rules broken by doing this because you are giving away your own information.
