Hi @Michelle Ayala, thank you for your response! Great info about the south side having more Hispanic population (as @Rebecca Knox mentioned too).  I may have to contact you in the future, for references, if I get into those areas.

Also, @Rebecca Knox, great to have someone on your team in-house, because it's all about relationships, right!?

In my experience latinos in particular are very appreciative when you put in even the smallest effort to speak their primary language (even when they indeed can communicate in english). It shows them you care about them and not only yourself. I'm going to continue to practice my espanol because I think there could be huge benefit to be able to communicate directly with contractors, or any party involved, which can foster a stronger relationship.  

Would still like to hear anyone else's experience or perspective.

Also, what if OP didn't use the term "house hack" but just asked, "Can I buy a duplex using FHA loan so I can make a downpayment of 3.5%...and not live in there?" Obviously he doesn't want to "house hack" by the literal sense of the term.

Hey everyone, just wondering if there are any BP members in WI, more specifically southern WI, that also speak Spanish. Now I won't be a poser, I can string together a sentence in spanish but truly I cannot comfortably converse with someone in spanish. 

I was wondering if anyone here believes it could be beneficial to be able to converse in spanish, and specifically I am speaking of the areas of southern Wisconsin. Are there great contractors or subs or wholesalers in the area, where speaking spanish might make some sort of a difference?

Personally, my wife speaks spanish so I learned a little when we were dating. She has been put on notice for any of my deals!

Hey @Kyle Schilter welcome! Sounds like you are off to a fantastic start by learning as much as you can, which I think every member here on BP would agree is the 1st step to getting started.

I think what might help others begin to help you is if you state what you are interested in. What is an opportunity, to you? I mean you don't have to divulge any financials, but are you looking for an opportunity to own a rental income property, or do you want to find a property to flip? Or does the idea of wholesaling float your boat? Please don't take offense at this suggestion, but seriously, BP is full of experts in each niche or category, and I believe once you specify what you're goal is, people will chime in and be able to give you advice. If you haven't decided yet either, that's fine too, just remain active and keep learning like you are doing.

Personally I am a newbie in Madison, WI and I'm looking for a business minded partner or partners for a fix and flip deal, and also I would eventually like to own multi family properties.  If you have similar interests, maybe we should connect.
