I've never heard of someone building a self storage facility out of shipping containers. Very intriguing! Why shipping containers? Is there a major cost advantage?

This sounds like a pretty complicated situation. I would definitely talk to your attorney and ask him all these questions, and don't rush into something like this. Take your time and understand what is going on and what the potential ramifications are if everything that can go wrong, were to go wrong. Then evaluate the risk and consider whether it is wise to proceed.
