Post: Obama wins = Housing Market Loses or Wins?

Obama has great skill at invoking a sense of hope and inspiration. No question there. I like him for that.
However, according the economists I respect the most (Austrian School), the market cannot escape a correction.
I think we have a long way to go, and may not experience a hint of improvement until the end of Obama's first term. And that is not in housing.
As far as housing, I believe the sentiment for many will get to where it was in the early 90s in California (Don't waste your time on real estate here). I predict that by the end of Obama's first term. Not because of him. Just because we have no choice in correcting.
Though I believe many savvy real estate investors will hold the exact opposite view.
For speculators, and some newer Realtors that so far have only experienced the mid 2000s and think that's how things work, the housing market loses for a long time.
There will of course be those false start reports that come out: "Sales are up!" I don't put much validity in those in terms of a sign of recovery, given the context.
Many, myself included, would like to think that California is Manhattan in terms of real estate - an island where values will always be super high. But it doesn't appear to be true historically. Historically, people leave here until it's affordable again.
Of course no one really knows. Maybe this time will be different in So Cal. According to experienced investors investing here, the party is just getting started.

The same?
Not as big of a deal?
It would have been a big deal. Not as big:

I grew up in Detroit. I know all about the White Castle. They can't touch In-N-Out either. But I still hit WC every holiday season when I am in the Motor City!

I am going to look into the silver thing. That sounds like a great idea.
I also researched In-N-Out franchising! Yeah they're not having it.

I know post is for Realtors, not Investors. But I am with Taz. I tell real estate agents my credit score.
I also think it's crazy in this day an age for a consumer not to pay 12.95 a month to have ID theft monitoring set up over at equifax, or similar trusted provider. That usually includes unlimited credit report access. From there I get my fico whenever I want for an additional cost. Any consumer should already know her or his fico if they're home shopping.
If a Realtor wants a print out of just my fico before making an offer, maybe that's fine since I should have access to that if am shopping for a house. But I see no reason why they should have a copy of my credit report/social security number such: Most Realtors I've met simply put potential buyers on an automatic emailer script that sends out mls listings. I along with hundreds of other potential buyer's get this email. Why does a Realtor need access to my social security number for that?
Landlords and lenders yes. Realtors, I am not feeling it. Perhaps it depends on the context and relationship with the Realtor.
I'd tell a stranger Realtor asking for a copy of my credit report, so he or she can auto email me mls listings, to get lost.

I will second that. I feel the same. What historic and touching moment.
As far as Obama, the economy, and business, I like what Jack Welsh said, "now he has to prove he's not owned by the left." Let's hope Tim is right on the centrist call.
As far as investing. I like Tim's suggestions. That and maybe health care REITS :)
Obama's ability to inspire and invoke a sense of hope is very powerful. Let's hope he comes through. I think he will, but it feels like it will get worse first. But then better!

I think you'll like the libertarian position, at least on economics and individual rights. Ron Paul definitely would have changed things up, much more towards free markets and much more in line with what our founding fathers wanted.
Was the Nuge carrying the gun concealed? I was contemplating getting a gun as I was stocking up on tons of canned food last month - I've been listening to too much Peter Schiff lately.
