I am not an expert, but I want to caution you AGAINST doing lead abatement work yourself, or worse, hiring a high school student to do it for you. This is a job for a professional. I'm a DIY gal myself, but this is not a DIY project.

@Leigh Ann Smith, what is to stop you from getting a few tiny houses and making those vacation rentals? Place people when you want to, and leave them empty when you don't.

There is a woman in Denver who is asking $300 a month for parking. That's about $10 a day. I don't think you could park it at an RV park for less than $10 a day, but I don't have a lot of experience with RV parks. I believe that includes sewer, water and electric.

A friend bought a piece of land at the height of the market. It is now worth almost nothing. He would like to have this monkey off his back, but doesn't know how to proceed.

It is mortgaged, and he would like to simply give it back to the bank. A friend of his bought in this same development, and went into foreclosure. The bank gave him a 1099. Is this a normal procedure in NC?

@Lee Ripma I think my favorite part of that link you shared was the "optional indoor bathroom and kitchen." I love being environmentally sound, but I draw the line at an outside bathroom.
