Millions of things can go wrong in this game. Sometime it cost money, sometimes its time or connections. You will have to get comfortable with losing and failing as it's a big part of the game. Losing a deal sucks and might feel very significant in your current situation, but if you keep pushing forward, your winnings will dwarf your mistakes. Its all worth it in the end!

I have made several mistakes that has cost me north of $10,000 each. But I've learned from every one of those and made my money back several times over.

If you can adapt to the mindset that you either will win or you will learn when you invest, "losing" is then impossible as all outcomes are positive.

Get back up on your horse and attack your next deal!

Welcome to the forums Nasser! I am sorry to hear about your cancer! I hope you have fully recovered, and that this awful thing stays out of your life forever. My mother is also fighting cancer and it’s very tough on her and the family.

It is wonderful to hear that your investments was able to carry you financially during your time of unpaid leave. I hope this has inspired you to keep buying real estate going forward!

Next time you are visiting Dubai you should come join our community of real estate investors that all have met through BiggerPockets! We discuss real estate all over the world and it’s free to join! Send me a private message if you want to connect further!

Respectfully,

Morgan Nilsen

Hello! There is a BiggerPockets group in Dubai and it’s going on it’s fourth year! You are welcome to join us. Message me your number and I’ll add you to the WhatsApp group we use to share meetup times and places. Our group has members from all over the world and we invest in many countries. Most of the members invest in USA, but UAE, australia and several places in Europe are represented. The group is on a small summer holiday now, but I’ll arrange some meetups in the beginning of September! More info will come on WhatsApp.

Hey Marius!

I’m from Tønsberg, currently living in Dubai, but I’m home very frequently. Flying home to TBG tonight and will spend 8 weeks in Norway this summer. I know many real estate investors in Norway, I’m happy to connect you! I’m going to organize a meetup or two this summer, so hope you choose to join!

Just found a lovely looking property. But seller just sent me a disclosure form, saying there is a history of termites. Does anyone know how this will impact future insurance premiums? I already know how much it will cost to have the house treated, but can't find anything on increase in insurance. Id love some help here!

Dubais real estate market move faster than any market I’m aware of. So if you can time the market right, you can see appreciation here that you can’t find elsewhere.

Dubai is a very transitory place where expats move in and out of, and this means lots of motivated sellers. Finding deals at good discounts is often easy.

Labor is also cheap here.

If I was living in America, I wouldn’t bother with Dubai. I’m Norwegian, I live in Dubai but I still prefer to invest in USA.

I don’t think it’s a good opportunity yet. I believe the prices will fall even more. Rents too. 5-10% more reduction and I will be buying here.
