When guests book on Airbnb they get the property address right away. Is it the same on VRBO? My guest paid in full and her reservation starts July 21. She’s asking me for the address which I’ll tell her, of course, but why is she asking me for it? Doesn’t VRBO give it to them and if , where can I direct her to look? Thanks. I’ve personally used Airbnb as a guest but not VRBO.

Thanks.

Looking to put $100K into a multifamily college rental near NC or SC. We'd leverage up to $300K max.

@Mary Ann Casey You invest in four states so you might need more than one broker. I ran into this when I shopped for an umbrella policy too. My broker in NY can't write for my FL or NC properties. Wouldn't touch my rental in an LLC anyway. I'm still shopping for a policy.

Ameriprise was happy to quote me for umbrella but I really questioned theit coverage. I’ll probably revisit it with them since I’m not getting anything better.

@John Mocker is personalumbrella.com something only brokers can buy? If so, please pm me.

Sounds like @James Wise is gathering data for a future real estate venture. Or just engaging in a conversation to stir up a debate.

@James Wise

I don't understand the point of the question you posed. You are self-proclaimed not inspired by STR nor do you think it worthy of your time. Furthermore, to criticize the viewpoints of others on the very topic you solicited feedback from is not understandable, to say the least.

Great ideas Garry. Do you do marketing too, or use Airbnb? @Garry C.

  • Would you be ok with your neighbor running their house as a short term rental?  Why? Why not?

 I’m curious James- have you searched Airbnb yet for a rental in your suburb? You’d be surprised to find a few rooms there.

Municipalities stand to collect tax revenue by regulating or allowing them. Banning is ok too, it depends on the geographical area and population and tax revenue sources too.

What’s driving your questions, if you don’t participate in it as a guest or host? Why now?

Quick tip: publicly reply to all your reviews, even if it’s just to thank them. Then, when the 3 star review comes in, it doesn’t look like you’re only paying attention now. Never correct them, just point out the obvious: “in my manual it says to unplug the air freshener. Sorry if you didn’t read that paragraph....”
