@ Florencio

How is the rehab going? Can you share details of the transaction? Purchase price, rehab work, etc. Good luck.

@ Ronnie

Thanks for the insight. Even as a resident, I never considered condos because of the high condo fees and communal lifestyle you are forced into. The fees are particularly expensive here in Canada and I will not touch it as an investor since its difficult to extract good cashflow from a condo, even the very affluent types in high income areas.

This certainly points to where next to expect economic prosperity with respect to real estste investment. Houston and Dallas are of particular interest and we have seen relatively strong  property appreciation lately.

Hi BP community, excuse my late entry to the discussion but I just joined BP a few weeks ago. Are you suggesting that tax lien/deed is not a recommended option in real estate investing? What has been your experience in this segment?

Kindly clarify as I have been researching this area for a while now.

Thanks

Does this apply to Texas too?

@Jordan Decuir

I see you are located in Texas. Can one get a 20k property with decent cash flow in Harris County in Houston Texas?. I am also starting out and wondering of this scenario can play out in Houston Tx.

Thank you.

@Duncan. we are in the same boat. However, I have narrowed my search to Houston, Texas for both potentials for economic growth as evidenced by the increased location of over 15 Fortune 500 companies having their head offices in Houston and the fast recovery of the real estate market after the recession.

@Chad

I will be interested in those contacts too. Please send to me too.

Thanks

Thank you all for the contribution.

The program is a 4-day event planned for Jan/February and he would take his students to the Harris County deed auction which takes place (I  believe first Tuesday of the month?). My interest as a newbie is to pick a single family residence and have his team manage this since I am a non US resident.  I am passionate and enthusiastic about US real estate, but, as a risk manager in the financial industry, we are wired to think risk first before returns, and that informed my continuous search for validation of authenticity of the program as $7k price tag is not what I would like to cough out and not get value for my money.

I will truly appreciate if I can run into anyone with practical experience of the program........

I am still hopeful to find one from the BP family!

Needless to say, since I joined BP last month, I have gained tremendous knowledge and its amazing the ease with which the member share honest information and always eager to help.

Thank you all.......am honored to be part of this community.
