I'm just wondering how you made out with the Gatineau side of things as a resident of Ontario.  Specifically how the purchase process was, are there any extra tax implications, and if you are using a property management company that you are pleased with?

@Chris Habets, I'm currently in the same situation as yourself two years ago.  Have you had any luck and found a road map that works, I feel like I'm researching in circles. My Situation: Wanting to buy Multifamily properties, commercial or residential loan type, with Friends and Family investment. I would have some capital in the investment, and would do all the leg work in getting it off the ground for my share of the deal.

I've used Babette Turner in Ottawa for my purchases.

I had good luck with commercial lending at Desjardins Casse Special.  The lady I dealt with is based in Cornwall but she does ottawa and eastward, very knowledgeable.  Deals with large multifamily portfolios and told me I would be able to do portfolio loans as I grew.  She may be worth a shot, not sure if I can say her name, but direct message me if its something that interests you.  

I would try Chris's recommendation if youre looking for someone a bit more local.
