Hi All,

I am planning to buy a home in Bayonne,NJ.

It has a drive way on right hand side that looks shared, it's neigbouring(R.H.S) property also has a narrow driveway on RHS.

also both properties has backyard together with no physical boundries, also garages in the backyard, I came to know that earlier there was only one owner for both properties

Realtor told me that drive way is not shared, but current owner has allowed neighbour to use driveway for his easyness, and neighbour uses that driveway to put stuff in his garage that he uses as store.

Just wondering how I can find out if driveway is shared or not, or "easyness" is neighbours right or not.

For privacy reasons, if I buy that home I would like to partition it and put a gate on driveway enterance.

Hi @Michael Lee and @Account Closed, Thanks for your reply.

My concern is like if I lend only 50K then definitely investor must be borrowing major part of loan from bank, in this case I am 2nd lender, so how I can assure my loan in this case, because in this case if property goes bad, first lender(bank) will get paid off , not me?

May be I am wrong.

Hi @Jeff Rabinowitz Thanks for your reply, can you please advice in detail about private lending laws, risks etc, is there any good book? . I was thinking lend money, take interest, pay tax on income, that's all. in fact, I wanted to lend so that I can shadow with investor and learn basics of real estate investing, so my 2nd step would be investing by myself.

Hi, I am planning for private lending, specially some one who is investing in Bayonne or near by.

I am also wondering like is it good idea to do private lending, or use the money in some other better way. what are risks associated with this and how to mitigate them..Thanks

Thanks Robert for your time and reply.

He is asking $500K, it's sale by owner property, i didn't offer anything yet, I need advice from experts here for best offer.

Pros : big yard(back yard +front lawn) , big lot , in general lots in Bayonne are 3000 or 2500 but this one is 4850, basement also fully furnished.

Cons:  busy street(ave C), back wall is attached with another home on Ave C.

Also owner bought in 2003 for $370K,but now asking $500K.

last year also he tried to sell for the same amount( $500K).
