Since you're out of state, the best option is hiring a local agent or property manager for showings and tenant screening. Self-service lockboxes work but require strict vetting. Not all agents handle rentals, so look for one with leasing experience. Let me know if you need recommendations!

There are a lot great neighborhoods in Indianapolis that would be great for house hacking such as Greenwood, Plainfield, Avon, Fountain Square, and neighborhoods around IUPUI and Butler. Hope this helps!
