Hi BP, 

I am 16 years old and I plan to get into the real estate agent industry once I am of age to get my license. I have studied how to be a good RE agent for a little over a year now and I am about to be an intern for a brokerage in the upcoming months. I really enjoy the business and this is definitely the career I want to pursue, preferably I want to be in residential RE, but I am worried that apps might take over the industry. My question is, should I think about Commercial real estate instead or just stick with what I enjoy more which is residential? Since I am only 16, should I look for a different career that doesn't have the possibility of getting replaced by technology or just stick with it? A lot of people say that that the agent will never be replaced because they can provide more. So what can an agent provide that technology wont be able to do 20 years from now? Thanks for your time

Hello BP,

I am only 15 years of age and I plan to be a real estate agent. If you could go back before you got your license or right when you got it, what would you have done differently to better prepare yourself? Also what mistakes did you make in your early years as an agent that you regret now? Thanks for your time.

Sometimes house hacking doesn't always go positive, especially in an area like that. So you may have to pay a very minimal amount of mortgage but its still a very good idea. Also look into buying a home around 600k etc. with multiple bedrooms and rent out those rooms to people as well. This method will almost always give you positive cash flow but you will end up being a little closer in proximity to your tenants which can be a downside for some people.

When someone has an ESA it can get frustrating because some people take advantage of this law with no real disabilities. They can also have almost any pet they would like inside the home which is frightening.

 I would recommend going out to the home as soon as possible to get a real life estimate because its really hard to tell online what the home is worth. I wouldn't even do a ball park estimate because you can tell them a price that is too high and get there hopes up and then they can be disappointed. Also good job sticking to your estimated price because you know what is best for the client so I wouldn't budge unless the seller gives you a counter offer, then you can "think about it". Lastly if the seller starts to be motivated to sell I would stop sending the mail only if you have secured the deal. After the transaction has taken place you can continue to send them mail as a follow up if you want, but you probably don't have to because they will have your contact etc.

Hello BP, 

I turn 16 years old in the next couple of months and I am really into becoming a real estate agent/broker in a couple of years, but i don't know if 16 years old is to early to shadow a broker or agent. For the last year or so I have read multiple business books (specifically real estate related) and I have been studying real estate intensely on youtube etc. for the last year so. I now know the basics of investing in real estate and how to be a good well rounded agent (the only thing I have invested in is stocks and crypto currency so far). I really enjoy real estate and I love working hard at it so I'm anxious for an internship. I feel like I have invested enough time in myself to take the next step and see what it is really like in the real estate agent world. Let me know if you think its to early to get a real estate mentor at a brokerage, or if its a good idea to start early. Thanks for your time.

Also do you think becoming a residential real estate agent is a bad career to get into in the next couple of years due to the technological advances, making agents more obsolete?
