Could you sell the properties and become a private lender? You would probably make better returns than in the stock market without the headache of dealing with tenants.

Kevin - I need you to let me know if you open a shoe pop-up shop in Cincinnati please!!! My husband can always use more shoes....In all seriousness, a shoe pop-up (especially with Jordan's) in Cincinnati could have amazing returns if you do it in the right place (west-siders love their Jordans!) Could you start part time working for a CRE broker while still staying at your full time job while you learn the business (and see if you really like the business or just like the idea of commission based income)?

Cincinnati, like Detroit, has some really great cash flow areas-homes in my rental area are around $80-120k and rent around &1k - $1600. Happy to answer any questions of you are interested in the area :)
