So far I have been looking into BRRRR strategies in other cities, made contacts in those cities and hope to make my forst deal in the next few weeks. Locally, the market here in Seattle is very hot and intimidating, looking to make local connections with wholesalers, investors, and other real estate minded individuals.

In this site, I am looking to better understand real estate investing, how to invest my money in real estate, and understanding the booming and expensive housing market of Seattle. I will likely want to invest in a condo or house in the next few years and want to be well informed before doing so :)

Any tips, starting points, or advice? All is appreciated!

 Hi Jacob-

Welcome! Certainly the correct space to extend your investing knowledge. How did your crowdfunding experience serve you? I just participated with a local Ohio crowdfunding company BRELION check them out, cool concept, so far so good.

Jonathan, Hello and Welcome to BP!

I think you are going down the right path in regards to defining a turnkey strategy, the next step is not only defining the marketplace but also considering the group you are electing to work with. I always recommend to refer to a simple guide about turnkey to drill down the secondary and tertiary factors you may want to weight ahead of defining the final destination. Its not only about the asset, its the entire experience and expertise of your trusted on the ground team.

Finally, I have to plug Cleveland, Ohio  - take a look -

I love our region and hope to see it continue to rebound.

 Martin-

Great point, beyond the Metropark system in Cuyahoga County, we must not forget Summit Metro  Parks, it is amazing to be able to be so close to so much wonderful conservation.

Ukranians and Poles as well as many form other Baltic states. A strong Hispanic community, a Puerto Rican community, Guatemaleans, Hondurans. Our rich Arabic community has both Christian and Muslim form Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon and the rest of the Arab world. We have Africans especially form West African countries, Asians form Cambodia, South Asia, Vietnam, Laos. The list goes on and on. (There are plenty of others, but these are among those that make up our rich cultural fabric). I love renting to first generation Americans because I'm 2 to 3 years, I will be selling them a house!

 Bob-

Excellent point, I just co-sponsored a Real Estate CE class, I was speaking with another realtor about this similar subject, you are absolutely correct, excellent marketplace you are tapping into.  One of the largest challenges, the individual referenced are the limited credit history most immigrants have @ 2-3 years, they tend to be very aggressive about their pursuit of home ownership (this is a good thing), being an immigrant myself (Eastern Europe), I can certainly attest to the inspiration many of these individuals have to live the "American Dream."  Perhaps, you can define a good avenue for these individuals to be able to obtain loan financing, many cases faulted due to the limited time of the existing credit history, this is by no means any one answer, blanket statement or solution.

I think I tapered off of the path, I think the summary  / take home message here is that Cleveland is an amazing melting pot of cultural influence/impact, we have individuals spanning the entire globe, only beautifying our city more and more.
