Hi All,

Happy New Year!

Does anyone have recommendations for a lawyer in the NJ or NY who's very familiar with the SEC? I'm looking to syndicate a deal this year and want to run through all the details with them first. I know there are a ton of nuances with pitching to prospective investors since you're technically selling a security, so just want to make sure.

This would hopefully be a long-term partnership with the lawyer and my team, so hoping to get some some great recommendations. Thank you in advance!

Hey Kyle,

I bought a SFR in Kansas City and worked with Sean Huss at Chemical Bank. They're based out of town, but lend nationally. I think they do duplexes too but definitely double check. For me, they were very thorough and made the process fairly seamless. Good luck and let me know if I can assist any further!

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to build a team in Kansas City, MO and was wondering if anyone had recommendations for an investor-friendly realtor/broker and property manager? Particularly those who specialize in multifamily (residential only, not commercial) properties. 

I've heard about Brice Bradshaw, has anyone worked with his team before? Would love to hear some suggestions and any other advice you may have. Thank you!

@Jack Bobeck Thanks for your insight! Yes actually I'm looking at a few units larger than duplexes, maybe around 8-10 units. I agree with your point about renting and managing the property--this is something I would definitely want to do.

Hey @Akash Jain, thanks a lot! So far it's going really well! Just last week there were a few minor repairs needed (caulking around the sinks, lining, etc.) and the provider told me that he'd take care of it. Which was really good of them to do.

Other than that it's been fairly well!

Hi All,

Like many new investors, I'm in the position where I've purchased a property and need to know whether to put it in an LLC or not. I have a standard insurance policy, but would like more protection should something bad happen. I also want the tax benefits of owning an LLC, but don't want to violate the due on sale clause. I know that this typically does not happen, as it's usually in the bank's best option to have you continue to pay the loan vs. calling it due and risk the borrower defaulting. However, I have also read threads on here where people HAVE had their loans called due...and it certainly doesn't sound pretty!

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
