Post: Using an Index Fund as your Savings Account... a new strategy?

I was watching a Meet Kevin video (here is the link) and he talks about the detriment of ordinary savings. He then mentions how putting your savings in an index fund is a better bet, and not just keeping your money dead in an account. Would like to know y'alls thoughts, especially those who do this savings strategy.

I use Vanguard for my Roth. Drop any index funds gems if you know any.

Wow, Joel! Great win. How did you "accidentally" fall into this deal?

After taxes, what's your estimated take-home profit?

You should include this on your profile for reference and for anyone who may want to partner with you in the future.

Congrats!!!

@Andy Rousch I love this. Currently doing this now as I’m studying and having been using the extra cash to invest in myself!

How do you finance STR's with low to no money down. I'm looking at some of these markets that would be great for STR's but the big price tag throws me off. I refuse to not expand my mindset.

Say someone in their 20's has a goal of $20,000/mo in passive income that's truly passive (minimal work) Would STR get them to that goal faster?

Hi BP! What would you do if you were in my shoes

You travel for work frequently which is paid for and reimbursed by the company you work at. What credit cards are you using to accumulate points for flights and hotels?

Would like to hear your thoughts and ideas. Thanks!

@Steve Neuman Hi Steve! Have you checked out Chase’s Business Ink Cards? I’d go for this if you already have a personal Chase Credit card.

The points you get from either chase credit card, whether personal or business, can be grouped together to make travel costs cheap or even free.

My setup: Chase Freedom Flex + Chase Business Ink Card

Hello BP Friends

As we all can see there is a definite shortage in houses to buy. I have my downpayment save for a first house hack but haven’t had any offers accepted and other homes don’t cash flow. What other ways can I invest into real estate and see a decent return (anything that fits into a schedule of a full timer also outing another interest) I know what I don’t want to do and thats wholesaling. I still like the plan of house hacking a property via AirBnB. Any suggestions?

Thanks.
