I too am local to the Miami area. A little north of you. I'm in Doral. This market is bonkers right now. Believe it or not, a house hack would probably be your best option in expensive markets like Miami. You're able to purchase with an FHA loan, potentially only putting 3.5% down. As you probably already know, Miami is full of "in-law suites" and "efficiencies" so executing a house-hack here would not only be more feasible but provide options with more privacy.
