Been helping my 20 year old son fix up his little craftsman bungalow. We have told the neighbors about our plans for an Autistic community and they have been super supportive. They say they are just so thrilled that he is not an investor who wants to rent out [umm, he plans to rent out to general public for next couple ears until community starts to be established. He has not figured out how to tell the neighbors, except two, that though. They seem to hate investors]

Anyway, since our first weekend we have had neighbors telling us who is selling locally. It will probably be a couple of years before LJ will be ready to buy more and other people involved in the project will be purchasing homes.

I had been worried about finding more good deals but people we have never met come over to talk about selling their home or deceased family members home for a great price on a regular basis now so I am no longer worried.

Not a BP thing, but more than anything, I am ecstatic to be in remission.

I did licensed daycare for years.  We had to keep everything immaculate and well maintained.  I also constantly received grants to make the facility nicer. Got a beautiful and free 800 foot deck, free insulation, and brand new hardwood floors  out of it.

We are working on rehabbing my sons little craftsman bungalow.  Someone suggested that we knock out a wall [structurally would not work] to create a more open floor plan. Maybe it's because I am slightly younger than God, slightly older than dirt [therefore so behind the times] or maybe it is because I am Autistic, but I GREATLY prefer a closed floor plan and wonder if closed floor plans will become popular again in about a decade. I have spoken to others who are neither Autistic, nor candidates for "crypt keeper" who feel the same way.

I do not like people breathing down my neck when I am cooking. I like to invite in just one or two to give me a hand and to talk about whatever we choose to.  I do not like people seeing me make a huge mess when putting together a creation. I like to be able to keep that door to the kitchen closed until I choose to open it and hear all the sounds of appreciation when the aromas waft into the living room.

I like being able to leave my jewelry making supplies out and the goody bags for the Autistic retreat that I am in charge of as well.  I like being able to just shut the door when I want. [and plenty of alone places for sensory overload melt-downs, but that IS an Autistic thing]

So, is it just me,or do you think that a more closed floor plan will become more fahionable in the near future and soon your rehabs will involve putting back in more walls than you are removing.

come on guys!  I want to hear about the beans and rice, the research at McDonalds because of free wi-fi  and learning [and appreciating]what a '3dog night" actually is. I want to hear about the 7,064 no's before receiving your first deal, and the crazy thing you did to come up with the last $698 you needed to make that deal real.  I want to hear about how your family was making jokes about yet another of your crazy schemes. I want to hear how you sold your plasma to raise enough for a professional business suit.  I want to hear about borrying your brothers car so that potential clients would never suspect that your real car was a crappy blue chevy Nova from the early 70's.  These are the stories that I love and that inspire me.  My late husband lived in a cave in Colorado in the late sixties so that he could afford to attend law school.  Let's hear YOUR stories!
