College can be a waste of time and money but it doesn't have to be. As with anything, you'll get out of it what you put in, so make sure you are in school to learn, with the intent to use those skills in your future endeavors.

I have USAA for car insurance and banking, which I think are their strongest services. As with anything else, any time I need a new policy I cross check the competition to make sure its a decent price.

I agree with @Thomas S., if buy and hold is what you want to do, buying a duplex, tri, or 4-plex is the way to go.

@Jacob R. I am planning on doing the same thing with the SFR I recently purchased and am currently living in. Being a VA Loan, we will live here until I get my next assignment then keep it as a rental. I analyzed it as a rental, and treat it as if I'm renting it to myself. We'll see how it turns out..
