@V.G Jason There are actually people who make millions off these things. They need to get in and get out quickly, as if they were playing video games. A lot of young folks are into this. They have their groups for doing that, they would get on a video conference and ask everyone to buy when they think "the time comes" for a specific meme. I decided it's not for me.

@V.G Jason Luckily not much money invested. Just to test it out. Nothing to blame myself for. I was just wondering how it works.

I lost some money on SOL. So no. Crypto is even harder to do than conventional stock markets. But today I learned another lesson...

You can probably look into Padsplit.

@James Hamling It's possible though, given the average value would include people that are super rich. The median number make more sense in this case. Note that ChatGPT is also coming up with the 29400 number, following up with other sources which make more sense. With Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, etc being the largest cities in China, how can the national average be much higher than those large cities?

@James Hamling According to ChatGPT:

The average monthly salary in China varies significantly based on factors such as location, industry, and experience. As of 2024, the national average salary is approximately ¥29,300 CNY per month (about $4,025 USD), equating to an annual salary of around ¥351,600 CNY (approximately $48,300 USD).

However, these figures can differ greatly across various regions and cities. For instance, major urban centers tend to offer higher salaries:

• Shanghai: Average monthly salary of ¥13,486 CNY (approximately $1,879 USD).

• Beijing: Average monthly salary of ¥13,438 CNY (approximately $1,872 USD).

• Shenzhen: Average monthly salary of ¥12,774 CNY (approximately $1,780 USD).

I lived in China for 20 years and that 29400 number is unlikely. I agree with rest of your comments.
