Snake oils, gurus, “investment advisers”, experts. BP can do more
I saw a post that the other day where a BP member called out another member and accused him of being...full of shot....good stuff. Because it’s good when you know someone is watching.
Is it possible @biggerpocketsmods that you could start some sort of rankings for folks...like they post up info in stuff they own and sold or rent out so newbies wouldn’t be so in the dark as to who to listen to...
Originally posted by @Joel Fine:LinkedIn has a feature where any user can "endorse" a user they are connected to, for a particular skillset. For example I could endorse my colleague Jack for "Project Management." The endorsements are posted (in aggregated form to make it anonymous) on the user's public profile. I.e. Jack's profile would say "5 people have endorsed Jack for Project Management."
I wonder if BP could copy that.
BiggerPockets has a similar References field where members can offer up a testimonial for someone they've worked with.

I was thinking of city data in a generic way
the votes and posts that @JM Payne referred to kind of does that tho. you just have to tap on the profile here So that already exists.....guess if you added a downvote feature that might be interesting.... I’d probably take the downvote title on this thread....

The endorsement feature is something we are considering for the company profiles in the company directory — I'd be interested to hear more feedback about this, since I know people can just upvote each other on LinkedIn having never worked together in any capacity.
Ps I figured out my ulterior motive...I wanted to talk about what I do bc as you can see all Conversations with me end up on my investing strategy.
So after hijacking this thread I realized I should just start a thread on my investing methods.

I put no credibility on a skill endorsement in LinkedIn. People just click on every single suggestion for skills to endorse. I think they do it with the hopes of being endorsed back. I am connected to many people I don't even know and they endorse me for skills. I think the current feature of writing an endorsement / testimonial is way more credible.
Also something for BP to consider is that more is not necessarily better. The forums work very well in current state. I am a big fan of simplicity over just adding features for the sake of having more features.
