@Caleb Heimsoth The lawyer didn't tell you that you would have to register your OH LLC in TN and that would trigger the registration cost. Plus if you are looking for a commercial loan, banks prefer local LLC than out of state LLC.

Lawyers are good for drafting the operating agreement. CPAs will tell you the taxation intricacies

Caleb Heimsoth you may need 2 LLC for the 2 states .. also single member LLC is pretty straight forward and you can use any online company to do it cheaper .... Even thought single member LLC is. A pass through entity it STILL provides protection as long as you keep finances separate. This is not a legal advice

I kept it central as I know some people were coming from east bay (emeryville etc).
