Welcome Kendra Dillard this is a great place to network with investors and other realtors. Brad and the express home buyers group are experts in what they do. They spoke earlier this year at another meet up I attend in Fairfax. Definitely worth looking into. Hope to see you around at some of the meet ups!

Hey Nina Daniel your ambition is motivating! I think it is smart to have taken the licensing classes, it's a good kickstart into the world of REI. Have you attended any local REI meet ups? I frequent a few in the area, and my favorite meets this week in Fairfax. I'll try to find the details of you're interested. I always meet some good professional contacts (contractors, Agents, lenders) that are investor friendly, as well as tons of experienced and newbie investors.

Welcome to the site Elohe! It's always great seeing new members in Nova to the site. Cody has some really good tips, however the strategies he mentioned are fairly common and might not work as well in our market. There's just a lot of competition. Don't worry that you haven't figured out where to begin, sometimes the site can be overwhelming with ideas. It's smart that you've gone to investing groups, thats a great place to start. I recommend to use BP as a dictionary and learning the jargon, strategies, etc and utilizing meet ups to learn the market. Then you can merge the two and figure out a strategy that makes the most sense to you. There's a lot of meet ups around, my favorite is in Fairfax once a month. There are good ones all over though. Hope that helps, happy investing.

@Norman Campbell Russel is right, but there are still deals listed on the MRIS, I analyze them daily. Our brokerage has a tool that actually works to pinpoint deals and allows us to weed out all the other listings.
