@Andrew Wong & @Ariel Smith you both are in the Bay Area as I do. I'm considering if I can find a small unit in this area, I would target corporate travelers too. Isn't there anything that will add nice touch to your amenity that these crowd appreciate? Or maybe fast internet is what they need. I'm thinking something trivial like phone chargers, but maybe that's just a hassle to provide.

Wow, very quickly the thread shows this is about knowing who your renters are, what they l like to do, what they bring.
@Jon Latorre yeah when I see traditional decor like Mickey Mouse wallpaper in Orlando or bear skin rug wood cabin in Lake Tahoe. It makes me want to go different like a really neat modern feel and standout from the rest.
@Paul Sandhu poker table, electronic darts are just great for any vacation rentals, the rest like kegerator and those artworks are awesome for your guests. I wonder if you've hint that artworks in the listing pictures :)

Awesome! @Michaela G. that's a nice touch for not a lot of money spent. Another idea is iPad stand although that's maybe for locations with kids.
@John Underwood your house sounds like a dream place for guests. How do you deal with guest liability for water sports and food in the stocked kitchen?

Hi, I have been thinking about making vacation rental stands out from the crowd. We know some of the key search criteria in some areas that you need to have in order to get more bookings, like hot tub or grill.
Wonder if we can share examples and ideas on what other amenities you can provide in the house to push your place beyond others. I've seen things like video games, pack and play cribs, movie room, game room, etc…

If there's a good deal you want to buy all cash at $200k, and you have $250k cash on hand which is also your emergency fund, and also $250k HELOC at 4%. In 6 months you most likely can refinance.- would you use cash or HELOC for your all cash offer?

Hi, I'm running numbers for the property I'm considering for rental and one crazy thought I have is that they put in new typical-looking white kitchen appliances - fridge, stove, dishwasher. I'm considering replacing them to stainless steel to potentially attract more renters and get better rent.
The cost would be ~$1000-1500 after selling the existing appliances. Not sure if it's worth it. On the other hand, I could use this money on something else that increases the house value.
The market is in Redwood City - SF Bay Area. It's a 3/2 that should rent around $4200, close to FB, Google, Stanford, downtown. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
