Hi... I made my first investment while living in Korea in a state I had never been to before - Florida. Talk about way out of state investing! ^^
Anyways I wrote 3,000+ words for BiggerPockets with some of the tools I used:

You might find it helpful. Best of luck and feel free to reach out anytime. ^^

That's such a great rundown of the area. Thanks so much for your input.
Nothing like getting an opinion from a local.
I wrote a little more about my out-of-state investing experiences here on BiggerPockets:

(If you're interested in hearing about my own due diligence process, you might find it helpful.)
Thanks again.

Congrats on your growth. That's awesome to hear about.
Just wanted to let you know there is a group of investors that meets regularly in South Korea. We're Korea focused and US focused. No pitch - just investors helping investors.
Anyways, if you'd like to find out more about us, we have a meetup page and website. The Seoul REI Meetup.
I'm not that familiar with Texas real estate but some of our members might have properties there and might be a good resource.
Feel free to reach out anytime if you have questions.

Best of luck with your move. If you have any questions about the group out here in Seoul, let me know. Most people out here are surprised to here about us but our members are pretty active and knowledgeable. Lots of good resources in the group.

Congrats! I'm glad to hear things are working out well.
I've heard a lot of other investors in our group ask about that strategy. The subletting part always seems to be the sticking point but it's cool that you've figured that part out.
Good analysis and I think it will help other investors who are trying to compare the numbers.
You should definitely hook up with Jacob at some point (if you haven't already). You're both using Junsay as a strategy.
Hope to see you at a future meetup!

BP's great. I've met some awesome people and learned a ton investing. I posted about how I was able to use BP to buy my first investment property.. while living overseas. Out of state investing to the extreme!
https://www.biggerpockets.com/blogs/6526/blog_post...
It was all thanks to what I learned on BP.
A few suggestions:
* Use the "@" if you want to mention someone specifically in a post. They'll get an alert.
* Definitely use this forum to network. Reach out to others. A good way to start is just by commenting on other people's post. That's how I started and eventually, I met a ton of people that way.
* I'd upload a picture. Personally, I feel more comfortable when I can at least see a picture of the person I'm chatting with.
Anyways.. great that you're giving back to the community. I'm sure Josh is happy about that ^^
Nice shout out! Hope you're doing well.
