 Oh.....I don't know about that. BP seems to have seriously loosened up on the forum rules. Shameless self promotion used to be discouraged. Now it seems that most threads like these are nothing but commercials for people who are here to sell their products.

Now that is a really interesting viewpoint Charlie. Most of the investors I've discussed this with have the opposite point of view. I frequently hear that the HOA in most cases will kill a deal.

Just as you say, you can run into special assessments at any given time. Have you been using this strategy long?

The other thing I hear is that so long as you plan on selling no time soon, which of course makes sense for buy and hold, it can be made to work. But that a big part of the downside is the inability to sell when you're ready.

By the way, I grew up in Minnetonka, and I SO miss the snow....

Thanks... Howard

 Google drive is as organized or unorganized as you make it. You have many options, from traditional Folder View, which most people are accustomed to; to tags; listview or gridview.

All the tools are there; it's up to you to set it up the way that best reflects your workflow.

Yes, on desktop or laptop. But not mobile. I often work from a tablet or phone, and when catching up at the end of the day, I spend lots of time reading BP from my tablet.

There is no hovering on mobile, no mouse over. May be the same for Windows 8 touch screens, I don't know.

There are still no avatars, stats, and no way to either vote or see votes. It's just not there. Quoting you was the only way to get the @mention to work, and I had to try 3 or 4 times before I could do that: the first few times I had to back up from accidentally reporting your post instead of quoting....it's that difficult to use.

Desktop not too bad....mobile experience ruined. I could work with it for weeks or months and not get "used to it" simply because the features I have come to depend on are not there at all.

And Karen Margrave's right....won't make me leave. But will sure change the way I use the site, and possibly cause me to reconsider whether or not I want to pay for the privelage.

@Mindy Jensen  OK mindy how do I send a message to someone who posted?

 If you hover over their image, there is a pop-out box and at the bottom is "Message" or "Connect" if you aren't colleagues, and "Message" if you are Colleagues.

I have been taking @Karen Margrave's.....???....(at mention not working.....) giving this a shot for several days wondering if it would grow on me......so far, no.

The mobile experience, which in the last few years has become ever so much more important, is for all intents and purposes ruined. You cannot hover without a mouse, period. That means that when I am away from my desk, I have zero ability to see avatars (except for my own which is constantly looking back at me), know how many posts someone has, votes etc. So I'm in the dark about who I am interacting with....that's a big move away from SOCIAL media.

We made this big push for folks to upload their picture a few years back because that was important, and now it is impossible on mobile to see anyone, and an extra step when not. @Bill Gulley  (okay, the @ thingy definitely does not work on mobile either)...Bill is right, flying blind will completely change the way I interact, and up till now I considered myself a Power user. BP had always been very intuitive, and now it just isn't.

Forum signatures and logos are much more difficult to see and easy to ignore. As @K. Marie P has pointed out, there are several features those of us with Pro subscriptions paid for, one of them being the logo in the signature. It's so difficult to see now that you can't possibly expect anyone to want to pay for that.

The font I can deal with. Not knowing who I'm talking to I can't. And the reverse of that must be true also, meaning that my visibility is likewise impaired. I have done business with a few hundred of my BP colleagues and would like to continue doing so. I would like it to be easier, not harder.

I cannot seem to vote either on mobile.?...

I drank the kool-aid a long time ago and this site ROCKS!! I can get help and be a help all at once. Josh's vision for the community and the social aspect of Real Estate has made this the premier site of sites. But Joel Owens (sorry, gave up on the @ thingy...hopefully you have your name set up for keyword alert ) said it best: for BP to work the way it's supposed to, the way it always has, the user experience must be the priority.

The whole idea of BP is cutting edge enough....leave the "slick" designs to corporate America and give us back the ability to easily interact and be social with each other. I'm not asking to go back to "Mr. Green" (those of you who have been here for some years know what  I'm talking about), but the design we just left gave us a much better quick snapshot of who we were "talking" to than what we have now. Just sayin'.

Thanks Mindy for all of your hard work.

Big thanks and much appreciation to Mindy Jensen and the BP team for correcting this issue so quickly. She said she'd get right on it and she did!

BP rocks and the keyword alerts feature alone makes the Pro account one of my best resources, period. Looks like it's gotten even better overnight and much easier to set up. Thanks again Mindy.

@Mindy Jensen, @Joshua Dorkin, @Brandon Turner,

Hey, guys, PLEASE stop this. I reset my notifications less than 10 minutes ago, and just got an email with this:

So I clicked, and yup, you guessed it, had to change my notification settings AGAIN less than 10 minutes later.

Whatever you have done, please undo it. This is ridiculous.

@Jerry Puckett

I'm sorry that you are experiencing these issues. I'll work with the development team to see what the issue is with your alerts. We'll figure it out!

 Mindy Jensen, I just reset my notifications again this evening after noticing I'd had new new emails in over an hour. That makes it an even dozen times I've had to do so in the last few days. Must I answer every single alert through the email link to keep my notifications being changed?

Whatever it is you fine folks tried to implement it is backfiring. Please make it stop. What is my next step in escalating this since it seems @Joshua Dorkin is not going to chime in here?
