Hey there Andy, there are quite a few zip codes that could get you that range of rent/month.  I'd stay north of Hwy 90 and IH 10 (78240, 78250, 78251, 78253) or around the downtown area of SA.  Even Cibolo (78108) and Converse (78109), just to mention a few.
