@Steve Babiak  - Thank you, but I'll have to use one where the house is located, which is in Aberdeen, WA.  Here in Kirkland area we have lots of great resources, but in a depressed area like Aberdeen the resources are quite limited.

@Kathleen Leary  - I think that's the best idea.  PAWS has a Have a Heart safety catch box for rent, but it's nowhere near the location of the house.  I have a contractor staying there while he's fixing it up.  He can set the trap and check it every hour.  Then, when the cats are caught, he can take them to the local animal control.  Unfortunately, to return the humane catch trap, I have to take it from Aberdeen to Lynnwood, which is about a 250 mile round trip.  *coughs*  Was hoping Aberdeen had a better solution.

I am considering hiring a wildlife specialist to catch the cats, but the websites I've looked at after Googling "feral cats Aberdeen WA" returned some fellas who are not unlike Dale on King of the Hill.  WOW

The property I recently acquired has two feral cats living underneath it.  One is blind.  I'm a big ole softy and the thought of calling Animal Control and knowing they are probably as good as goners if I do, breaks my heart.  Go ahead and laugh if you want.  ;)

At any rate, PAWS will rent me a rather expensive trap, which I am loathe to pay even with my great big heart.  Does anyone have a (reasonably humane) suggestion for me?

Thanks!

@Will Barnard  - I read this thread with my mouth hanging open.  It is appalling that the law works to protect people like this, who are so obviously working the system, while simultaneously punishing the job creators/cash investors.  Our society has a lot to gain by hard working, honest people being able to invest in it!  It's sad, because it's like they're shooting themselves in the foot!  My most sincere sympathy for your plight.

Thank you, @Jake Hottenrott !  I do worry about these things, and I want it all streamlined as I go along.

Thank you, @Jon Holdman!  You're right.  I'm still new to the game and figuring these little things out!  Much appreciated.  :)

Thank you, @Lisa Doud !  I'm still very small, but need to get new acquisition covered, so I'm shopping out the policy.  Suggestions for good landlord insurance company?

Do you bundle your rental properties homeowner's insurance with your personal policies?  Do you do one account for each house, or keep "rental properties" with rental properties?  Why or why not?

I was thinking it would be better to have each house be on its own, to make it easier for my CPA whom I just started working with.  Thanks for your thoughts!
