Congrats on becoming licensed! I agree with @Jonathan Safa that its important to target a few areas and become an expert in those neighborhoods. Read about books on investment properties and post any and all questions you may have on the bp forums. There are some on this list: https://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/2013/04/1...
And definitely read The Real Estate Agent's Ultimate Guide to Working with Investors as suggested by @Mindy Jensen

Most agents I know in NYC will say they are investor friendly but they dont even understand the importance of NOI or cash on cash return. Deciding to work with investors is a smart move especially now that the BRONX is officially burning with interest from investors. As you probably already know, NYC is rapidly becoming the city for the haves with little to no space for the have-nots. Its become too cost prohibitive for a regular person making a honest income to buy a home. Therefore, you will almost have to cater to the wealthy investor because they can afford to pay those prices

The majority of the investors I know have people known as "bird dogs" who run around town looking for diamonds in the rough. In exchange for the service, the investors pay these scouts a fee. Wholesalers, for the most part, have a bad reputation because of their inability to provide true value to investors. There's a small percentage of wholesalers who can identify a good deal so finding them will require patience and exceptional due diligence.

Make sure you consult with an attorney to see if wholesaling is in fact legal in your neck of the woods. Here in the US, states are amending existing laws to curtail wholesaling as they see it as someone brokering deals without a real estate license.

Do you know which areas you will be targeting? Will you stay local or invest out of state?

Welcome to BP, Michael! Do you have a team in place to help you, i.e. attorneys, mortgage broker, realtor, property manager...? If not, you could find them on BP and at meetups in your area.
