FWIW My situation allowed me to eliminate almost all of my 401k and continue to contribute. I turned a 3% return into about a 20% ROI by purchasing two homes. I plan to take my money every couple of years. I am over 59 1/2 so I had no penalty. Wish I had done it years ago.

Thank you Matthew Schroeder I appreciate the information It sounded like a decent deal on a flipped house. Guess I better take a drive over there before I get too enthused.

Does anyone have any experience with the W. Washington area of Indianapolis?  I got a lead on a 3bd/2bth home that is coming up for sale after a remodel.

My CPA recently told me that passive income - such as real estate- will not affect the amount of SSI that I will collect. I don't know about disability though.

I recently used 1&1. Not sure how much you can manipulate it.
