I am considering purchasing a property that needs some work and had a few questions particularly in regards to procedures in a house with lead paint. Any Bronx-NYC contractors on here familiar with how to go about this. Do I need someone to do a complete abatement or is there a less costly method?

It seems like most people say the HOA fees are what the biggest deterrent is but even if they are 600-700 a month its almost the same as paying taxes on a house.

@Trevor Ewen What kind of numbers were you looking for? I have been looking at Multi family homes and im not sure exactly what numbers I should realistically expect to see. Also did these properties have landlord supplied heat or was heat paid by tenant?

I would like to hear from those of you who invest in multi family homes in the Bronx. Has it been a positive or negative decision?
